Review:

I'm sure we are all well aware of this book, if not the people that created this book. I'm sure you've all known the mega famous instagram account of the people behind this book, which is @hotdudesreading (this account has over 800k followers, btw). Now, I myself am not a follower of this account because if I want to look at a hot dude reading I can just read in front of a mirror (APASIH..) but a lot of people are really into this account. You can really tell the content of this book if you're familiar with the instagram account because as the title implies it is essentially a book filled with literal "hot dudes reading" in many spots of the concrete jungle or we know it as New York city.

So, upon reading this book I've found out that the "dudes" in this book are all exclusive to this book only. The guys in this book haven't been previously uploaded to the account, since the authors of this book have sought out new guys just for the purpose of this book (yes people, you'll see some fresh faces!). If any of you guys are thinking, "okay, so it's basically their instagram posts published in print why do I need to read this?". Well you don't need to read this book, but if you want to read this book you'll see that it is not just pictures of hot dudes never seen before in instagram, there are also a couple of interviews with hot dudes previously uploaded in the instagram account.

In this book, the authors scoured every route of NYC subway from the A/C/E to the J/Z just to find hot dudes to put on this book. You might wonder why am I reading this kind of book? Well, the answer to that question is simple, I was just curious. I was reading an article about the people behind the account and saw these words:

"What makes us more desirable or interesting from a literary perspective is that we create content," says the social media strategist. "We don't just repost. We didn't just throw up photos and say, '7 train. Super cute!' We actually create stories for every guy, which I think made heads turn and made people think, 'They're actually content creators who could produce a book.' I don't know if this would happen if it were the other way around." 

Adds the marketing manager: "It's like that old saying, 'Don't judge a book by its cover.' We've flipped the script. We judge them by the cover. It's an insight into who they are as a person. It gives a taste of their personality. We like to take that piece and expand upon it. We might go a little off the rails, but that's the fun part of it."

If you guys don't know I recently interned at an advertising agency and when I was working there. I became interested in the world of copywriting. Learning how to use words to entice people, make them feel something and so I'm curious about the words that these people use to describe the guys inside this book, and let me tell you the writing doesn't disappoint, reading this book was pure entertainment, I laughed, smirked, giggled and everything in between. The descriptions that the authors use on the guys inside this book were awesome, fresh, funny, witty and of course full of double entendres and "adult-ish" innuendos (which is kind of the style of their captions on instagram). Also, they really did a great job of telling the stories of the guys in this book if not making up a story for the guys in this book. I must also applaud the smart and totally proper use of hashtags in this book.

There are also seven interviews with guys already featured in the instagram account. I assume the interviews were either of the most popular guys in the account or the most favorite guys for the authors (I don't know, don't quote me on that). Oh and if you guys are wondering if there's an interview of the "Long Lost Hemsworth Brother" you won't find it here but you can gaze at him cause he is on the cover of this book. I can understand why you would want to know more about him since he is the most liked photo on the account. I don't understand why the authors didn't interview him though, I wonder what's behind that decision. Okay, back to the interview portion of this book. So, the authors asked several questions to the guys about books and about what has changed in their lives after being featured on the account.

This book was a quick read for me, I finished it in one sitting. I assume this book would be a great table book, If you want to savor this book and just want to flip through it that's fine as well. I would recommend this book to people who like seeing God's creature candidly pictured while reading or for anyone interested to read about the descriptions of the guys. I'll admit this book makes me want to be able to write smart and witty things *le sigh*.

To close this review, I'll give you a few of my favorite parts of this book.
